I began practising yoga as a student in 2010, initially to improve my physical health. Later, after a break of several years, I found solace in yoga while training with Teach First to become a Geography teacher. Yoga quietened and calmed my busy mind at this challenging time in ways that saved my career; I had better relationships with my students and with myself.

My journey with yoga has since evolved physically, mentally and spiritually. The power of yoga comes from the individual journey each individual takes; there is no right or wrong way to do it, and every practice will look different. I teach from a space that emphasises inclusion, regardless of age or experience.

Teacher Training

In 2017, I stepped away from the classroom and completed my teacher training at Sampoorna Yoga, India. I received a 200-hour teacher qualification in Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow. My teachers were patient, intuitive and open; their style informs my teaching today.  I have also completed a module with Calm for Kids in teaching yoga to teenagers, and continue to bring yoga to young people in Bristol.

I have a strong interest in the therapeutic aspect of yoga, and believe it is much more than asana. I seek to incorporate philosophy, pranayama and mudras into classes and workshops. My journey hasn’t stopped there – I am committed to continual learning as I continue to be a student of yoga myself.

Yin & Yang Yoga Class

This class interweaves the clarifying energy of yang to the rejuvenating qualities of yin. The combination of passive (yin) and vigorous (yang) yoga practices, is rooted in the idea that, in order to create balance in your overall practice, it is necessary to alternately exert and quiet yourself. We will begin by moving through strong dynamic postures, and end with a deeply immersive yin practice, where postures are held for longer periods.

This class is intelligently designed to leave you feeling calm, grounded and centred, having a powerful effect on your energy systems building stability and mobility through asanapranayama and deep relaxation.  Each week we will focus on a theme varying from joints and body parts to working through chakras.

Everybody is welcome to my classes, and I cater for all levels through modifications and intelligent use of props.

Vinyasa Yoga & Meditation Class

This Vinyasa yoga class offers an equally nurturing and challenging experience that invites you to move in a way that feels good to you. Focussing on full breath and dynamic flows to make you feel bright, energised and ready for the day ahead, we will explore sun salutations and fluid movements that will wake the body, ending with a meditation to bring calm and clarity to the mind.

All levels of student are welcome to this class.

Monthly Parents & Toddler Yoga class

A fun, engaging and creative course for toddlers and their adults. Mums, dads, carers, aunties, uncles, grannies, all are welcome!

Parent and toddler yoga gives you the space to relax and enjoy the practice alongside your little one. Providing a lovely opportunity to bond with each other, connect to the body and breathe whilst having some fun.

We’ll explore yoga poses to develop strength, balance, and coordination. We’ll also learn how the breath can be used to calm ourselves. Yoga can help toddlers (and everyone!) to relax and sleep better so come along and find ways to calm and settle together. Every class closes with a mini savasana (relaxation), a time for you and your little one to snuggle under a blanket together and await a special visit from the magical yoga butterfly!

We’ll discover yoga playfully through stories, games and songs. Throughout the term in our weekly classes your little one will gain confidence and develop their communication skills and creative self-expression.

A certain amount of chaos is expected! The class will have a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, so don’t worry if your toddler is feeling grumpy, tired, wants to run around or do their own thing, we will go with the flow, I welcome their creative input, they can show the rest of the group how to do their own version of tree-pose! I also understand that some toddlers will engage in the class and some won’t, we are all still gaining from the experience: moving, stretching, breathing, smiling and being together!

If you’re running late don’t worry, I know how tricky it is to be on time with little ones… come in your own time and join in.

This class is suitable for all levels of yoga experience. Stay on afterwards for a toddler friendly biscuit and a chat!

These classes are suitable for children aged approximately between 2 – 4 years, but feel free to come along if your little one is a little bit younger for a trial session.
