Pregnancy Classes at Bristol Yoga Centre

At Bristol Yoga Centre we offer specialist prenatal and postnatal classes. If you are new to Pilates or Yoga, it’s best to attend these specialist classes. Our group classes are kept small to allow individual attention and safe practice.


Pregnancy Pilates/Yoga with Claire

A beautifully tailored prenatal class to support your pregnancy journey. Safe and effective exercises are combined with nourishing breathing techniques, deep relaxations and reassuring language to ensure you feel supported, equipped and focused.

Each session is designed to bring forth and enhance your skills in preparation for labour and beyond, whether you use the session as a much needed respite from your day or as a focused practice into motherhood. Claire Robertson is a fully qualified pregnancy Yoga teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga.

If you already have a regular Pilates or yoga practice and don't feel too tired, you can start these classes during your first trimester. If you are new to Yoga or Pilates, you may want to wait until your second trimester when you feel more energetic and well. You can continue these classes right up until the birth of your baby.

Mother and Baby Yoga Class

Monday 10:15 - 11:15am

Mother and baby Yoga session at BYC provides a safe, gentle and delicate space so mother and baby can replenish, bond and practise together in movement and breath.

A beautifully crafted postnatal session for both mother and baby.  Safe and effective exercises are combined with nourishing relaxations, reassuring language to support early motherhood and multiple practise skills to enhance your natural ability to support your baby.

Each session includes exercises for post natal recovery for you, exercises for your baby to enhance their natural development and exercises for you both, to enhance your natural bonding ability.  Sessions designed to relax you both deeply, whether you use the session for a much needed rest from your day or just to connect with other like minded mums. 

You can start these classes from 6 weeks post birth and continue up until your baby is 1 year old.


General classes welcoming pregnancy

We believe that it’s best to attend specialist classes where possible but if you’re more experienced and would like to come to one of our general classes, these classes are also suitable.

The following classes are taught by teachers who hold a specialist pregnancy qualification. Please let the teacher’s know that you are pregnant before the class starts.

Private lessons

You may want to consider doing a private pregnancy yoga lesson, these are open to everyone but would be particularly useful if you have any health issues or complications. You can always decide to join group classes once you feel confident and ready.
