New Women's Yoga on Monday Night

February 29, 2020 Naomi Hayama
Women’s yoga with Amanada at the Bristol Yoga Centre

We are introducing a Women's Only Yoga class to create a space where women can flow in the presence of other women to increase their physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

The class will guide you on an inner journey to ignite your intuition and a deeper awareness of your body mind and soul. Incorporating aromatherapy and massage, this nurturing Vinyasa flow yoga class will encompass all the benefits that yoga can bring; clarity, emotional expression, calmer mind, better sleep, a stronger mind and body and overall compassion for yourself and others.

This weekly class will be open to all those who identify as women and is suitable for all levels from beginner to advanced. Starting 7:30 - 8:45pm on Monday 30th March 2020 with Amanda.

Amanda is a yoga teacher and a holistic healer, specialising in releasing stale, stuck or static emotions from the body using sound, breath and movement. She also teaches Vinyasa Flow Yoga on Wednesday evening at 7:30 - 8:30pm which is opened to everyone.

New Ashtanga and Yin Yoga from March 2020

February 26, 2020 Naomi Hayama
New morning Ashtanga Yoga class with David. He also teaches Yin Yoga class on Friday evening.

We’re really pleased to welcome David Lees to Bristol Yoga Centre from March 2020. David will be teaching two morning led Ashtanga Yoga classes on Tuesday and Thursday from 7:15 - 8:30am and Yin Yoga class on Friday evening from 5:30 - 6:30pm.

Ashtanga is a wonderful way to start the day. Waking up the body through sun salutations, we move through standing postures to rouse and energise the body and breath; seated postures which work ever-deeper into the body to awaken the spine; before a finishing sequence to calm and restore the body and mind. Great for health, focus, and setting yourself up for the day!

Yin Yoga is a practice of allowing or yielding. We move gently and mindfully into postures where we stay for quite some time (usually 3-5 minutes), using props to support our bodies so that we can stimulate our tissues (such as myofascia, bones, and tendons), release and free the body, and become more aware and accepting of our self.

He’s Ashtanga Yoga classes are available for free trial for new students for the first class and all of his classes are available on MoveGB. More information about David to follow very soon!

Monthly Parents and Toddler Yoga Class with Tash

October 1, 2019 Naomi Hayama
Parent and toddler yoga with Tash at the Bristol Yoga Centre

A fun, engaging and creative class for toddlers and their adults. Mums, dads, carers, aunties, uncles, grannies, all are welcome! This monthly class is starting from Thursday 10th October 2019 from 11:30 - 12:15pm with Tash Neely and costs £8 per class or £30 for block of 5 classes.

Parent and toddler yoga gives you the space to relax and enjoy the practice alongside your little one. Providing a lovely opportunity to bond with each other, connect to the body and breathe whilst having some fun. We’ll explore yoga poses to develop strength, balance, and coordination. We’ll also learn how the breath can be used to calm ourselves. Yoga can help toddlers (and everyone!) to relax and sleep better so come along and find ways to calm and settle together. Every class closes with a mini savasana (relaxation), a time for you and your little one to snuggle under a blanket together and await a special visit from the magical yoga butterfly!

We’ll discover yoga playfully through stories, games and songs. Throughout the term in our weekly classes your little one will gain confidence and develop their communication skills and creative self-expression.

A certain amount of chaos is expected! The class will have a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, so don’t worry if your toddler is feeling grumpy, tired, wants to run around or do their own thing, we will go with the flow, I welcome their creative input, they can show the rest of the group how to do their own version of tree-pose! I also understand that some toddlers will engage in the class and some won’t, we are all still gaining from the experience: moving, stretching, breathing, smiling and being together!

This class is suitable for all levels of yoga experience. Stay on afterwards for a toddler friendly biscuit and a chat! Available to book on MoveGB and Hoop too.

Next dates: Wednesday 7th November, 12th December 2019, 9th January and 13 February 2020
